Getting the Motive Commerce Search plugin
Motive Commerce Search is currently available for PrestaShop and WooCommerce:
You can configure Motive for your shop installing the required plugin and following a few steps.
Getting the PrestaShop plugin
You can get the Motive Commerce Search plugin (module) from this link or by clicking on Download module during the platform selection step in the installation.
Access your PrestaShop Admin Panel.
In the left-side menu, click Modules > Module Catalog.
On the top right, click on Upload a module.
Either drag or manually look for and select the .zip file you can download from this link.
Click Configure.
Scroll down. In the Connect to Motive here section, click Copy token.
Once you use this token, do not generate a new one in PrestaShop: The connection between your shop and Motive would break.
If you already have a Motive user account, click I already have an account to continue configuring Motive. If you do not have an account yet, you can sign up now.
Getting the WooCommerce plugin
You can get the Motive Commerce Search plugin directly from your WordPress Control Panel, even before signing up to Motive.
Access your Wordpress Control Panel.
In the left-side menu, click Plugins > Add new.
Search for
Motive Commerce Search.In the Motive plugin, click Install Now.
Click Activate.
In the left-side menu, access the Motive plugin page.
Scroll down. In the Connect to Motive here section, click Copy token.
Once you use this token, do not generate a new one in WooCommerce: The connection between your shop and Motive would break.
If you already have a Motive user account, click I already have an account to continue configuring Motive. If you do not have an account yet, you can sign up now.
Getting the Shopify app
You can get the Motive - Privacy-Minded Search app directly from the Shopify App Store.
You don’t need to create an account in our Playboard before installing our app, it will be created and validated automatically with the email of the shop. If an account with such email already exists, the shop is linked to the existing account.
Take into account that the first time accessing the automatically created account in our Playboard, you need to perform the Reset Password process.
Go to our app in the Shopify App Store and click on the Install button:
You will be redirected to your Shopify store, click on the Install button to confirm installing our app in your store:
Once installed you will get redirected to our app page. At this point, we start to synchronize your catalog in our system. You will receive an email from Motive when it is completed and the next step will appear to “Enable the search layer”:
Click on the Enable the search layer button on our app page.
You will be redirected to your theme editor, enable our app “Motive Commerce Search”, by dragging the button to the right. Then click on the Save button to show our search layer on your store.
